Donegal beat the blues
Donegal 1:11 Shannon Blues 0:07
Canton, MA Sunday June 8th. After the shock of an opening day defeat to the Wolfetones, Donegal got things back on track with an impressive win over the Shannon Blues. Donegal welcomed a number of new faces to the team including Ciaran Bonner, Aidan Fennelly and Fergal Clancy. In what was a closely fought contest, it was only in the last ten minutes that Donegal pulled away from the blues. The first half saw both Bonner and Mc Nulty score a brace of points. Donegal went in at the break with a three point lead. Donegal sealed the win thanks to a Ciaran Bonner goal ten minutes from time, a high ball was floated across the goal mouth and Bonner rise highest to punch to the net. Donegal played keep ball for the remaining minutes and a Blues sending off meant there was no way back for them. Donegals next game is against Armagh Notre Dame on Sunday June 22nd.
